One of the first initiatives of the new Ramallah immigrants to America was the establishment of an education fund. The Educational and Charitable Fund was established in 1916 to provide scholarships to Palestinian and Palestinian American students from low-income homes to acquire higher education and to support charitable institutes in line with the organization’s mission and goals.

Financial aid is given in the form of:

  • Direct grants to Charitable organizations;
  • Scholarships awarded directly to students by Scholarship Committee;
  • Committee-awarded grants for books, papers and research on subjects dealing with Arabic culture.

In the last ten years, more than $800,000 has been spent to financial support students andlocal, national and international charitable organizations. More than 1500 scholarship recipients of the Fund received undergraduate and graduate degrees in such disciplines as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, education, engineering, science, business administration, law and many more that could be listed.
