Day of Action 2025 Concluded!
Day of Action is in the books! What a MASSIVE success the past few days has been. We are incredibly proud of this year's group of Palestinian American adults for speaking truth to power to their representatives and fighting on behalf of Palestinians.
We want to extend a special thank you to every single participant who joined us for this year's Day of Action. Your passion, energy, and willingness to advocate for our people were truly inspiring. It is not easy to walk into the halls of power and demand justice, but you did so with courage and poise. Thank you for lending your voice and your time to this vital cause!
The Day of Action group met with various organizations leading the charge in advocacy and activism, learning how to finetune their own efforts to increase their impact when advocating for Palestinian justice. The work isn't done, and we look forward to this group continuing to foster important relationships with their elected representatives and making their voices heard for Palestine!
Each year, the Federation organizes a summit in Washington, DC, where dedicated young adults from across the country convene to advocate for Palestinian human rights on Capitol Hill and build power within the Palestinian American community.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet directly with Members of Congress and their staffers to voice their concerns over Israel's ongoing occupation and human rights violations, and advocate for the advancement of legislation and policy that holds Israel accountable and defends Palestinians' rights.
The most recent AFRP Day of Action was held in October 2023, with delegates from all over the country. The group met with congresspeople and visited the Department of State and met with the National Security Council at the White House.
The purpose of these meetings was to convey our collective concern for the U.S. response to Israel's ongoing genocide and violation of human rights in Palestine, and to advocate for the advancement of legislation in the House and Senate to protect Palestinian children.
Delegates also have the opportunity to learn and share with guest speakers. In 2023, we had the privilege to hear from Executive Editor Adam Horowitz from leading publication Mondoweiss and Assistant Secretary Brenda Abdelall from the Department of Homeland Security.
