AFRP Statement on the Killing of 26-year-old American Human Rights Activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi

The American Federation of Ramallah, Palestine (AFRP) is deeply saddened and strongly condemns the senseless killing of 26-year-old American human rights activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was fatally shot by Israeli soldiers. Eygi, a U.S. citizen, was struck in the head by a live round while participating in a peaceful anti-settlement march in Beita, near Nablus in the West Bank, according to Palestinian reports.

We urge our government to take immediate action and hold the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) accountable for this tragic murder. Numerous innocent American citizens have been killed by Israeli military forces and settlers without consequence. It is the moral duty of our country to protect its citizens and ensure that justice is served.
