AFRP 2020 Convention Rescheduled

Dear Ramallah Family,

Together, we find ourselves in an extraordinary situation with COVID-19. In the past few weeks, things have moved very quickly, and this pandemic is affecting all of us, our families, and our very way of life. While you probably have heard, we are in the process of rescheduling our convention to July 2021. Our new dates are not confirmed and we are working with the hotel in order to secure an available weekend. In collaboration with the AFRP, the Jacksonville community tried to make the convention work this July, as well as considered the possibility of rescheduling the convention to later this year; however, we ultimately decided that we could not risk the safety and well-being of our attendees and families. Your safety is our main priority.

For those of you that bought ads and sponsorships, we greatly appreciate your support. We want to make sure you know how important you are to our convention, federation, and community. We will continue to advertise our sponsors leading up to the convention in 2021, and will carry forward all of our ads bought to next year’s ad book.

For those of you that registered, we greatly appreciate your support as well. We will make sure to keep your registration and banquet seating reserved for the following year. If you remain registered, you will be provided early access to reserving hotel rooms when our new hotel room block opens. If you are unsure if you will attend next year’s convention or have any issues, please email us at [email protected]. We will make every effort to accommodate your requests.

For those of you that booked hotel rooms, we have tried to work with the hotel on canceling all hotel rooms in our room block, yet this wasn’t possible. We strongly encourage you to please cancel your room reservation now. Once our new dates are finalized with the hotel, we will send out another communication to book your rooms for next year.

We will continue to work hard to deliver the best convention possible. This rescheduling will give us an additional year to make this an even better convention! Rest assured if there are any further updates, we will communicate them to you. We hope you and your families are staying safe, and if there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.

Thank you!
